Selection Criteria |

You need to forward to us a copy of the Position Description which specifies the exact Key Selection Criteria along with a copy of either a current resume or our completed questionnaire.
- Read through the stated Selection Criteria, and ensure that you know that you actually meet all of the criteria. Allow at least a week for us to complete the Selection Criteria on your behalf. We also recommend you allow an extra day e.g. if the deadline is the 4th December, ask us for it by the 3rd December. Should you require Selection Criteria to be completed quicker than this, you will need to purchase the EXPRESS SERVICE as detailed on our Pricing and Orders section. This allows for the document to be prepared within 48 hours.
- For each stated Selection Criteria point, provide Impressive Resumes with an example or examples of how you meet this particular criterion. The example should be one which talks about a specific situation in detail, using the following formula: STAR or Situation, Task, Approach and Result.
Providing general information about your career or abilities will not be as powerful or successful as the above formula. For example, if the Selection Criteria point asks you to demonstrate "Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills." An incorrect way of answering would be "Over the last 20 years I have used my outstanding communication skills on a regular basis, and in all roles. I am constantly dealing with customers" This appears to be an answer, but it is not. It is a general statement which will not get you to the top of the short list. An appropriate answer to this would be: "In 1997, as Personal Assistant for ABC Corporation, a situation arose whereby staff morale had rapidly dropped due to a recent spate of dismissals. I decided to approach the situation by not only preparing a memo to staff, but also by speaking to each staff member personally, of which there were 26. I found that the staff were very receptive to this approach, and appreciated my time in communicating with them personally. As a result of this morale increased rapidly, as well as production, which increased by 12% over the next quarter." (STAR – Situation, Task, Approach, Result).
