Professional resume writer offers free assistance to job seekers, gaining amazing results. These have been a big hit, with a waiting list of over 50 participants. This was despite being unemployed for over 12 months.
Who: Impressive Resumes was formed in 1998 by Andrea Drew, a professional writer with a background in writing, HR and customer service. What: Clients upload their existing resume via the "ordering" page of the website. Within 48 hours of receipt, a critique is forwarded to the client with red notes/recommendations and suggestions for improvement put forward. Why: When asked about her motivations for providing a free service Andrea replied "Whilst I am in business to make money, over the last ten years I have noticed a trend whereby a job seekers mistakes in their resumes are costing them valuable opportunities. This coupled with my understanding of the impact this can have upon individual lives (gaining employment or lack thereof) prompted me to formulate the complimentary resume workshops and free critiques gaining the satisfaction of knowing I am making a real difference, and contributing to the economy, and also the community at large.
